Confluent Software, a Sunnyvale, CA based provider of Web services management software, named Paola Lubet as its Vice President, Marketing. Lubet was previously Vice President, Product Marketing at PeopleSoft.

Intelligent Results, a Bellevue, WA based provider of business analytics software, promoted Kelly Pennock to Chief Executive Officer.

MindMatters Technology, a Canonsburg, PA based developer of enterprise software for oversight and management of the corporate product development process, promoted John Gabrick to Chief Executive Officer.

NetSuite, a San Mateo, CA based provider of Web-based business applications, named Michael Williams as its Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales and James Ramsey as its Vice President, SMB Sales. Williams was previously Vice President, Worldwide Sales at Zantaz. Ramsey was previously Director, Western Sales at Oracle.

OpenService, a Westborough, MA based provider of enterprise security management software, named John Murgo as its Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer. Murgo was previously Chief Financial Officer of Dirig Software.

Permeo Technologies, a Dallas, TX based provider of application security software, named Paul Strelzick as its Vice President, Sales, Americas. Strelzick was previously Vice President, North American Sales at NetIQ.

SealedMedia, a Los Gatos, CA based provider of enterprise document and e-mail security software, named George Everhart as its Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Everhart was previously President & Chief Executive Officer of OneSecure.

3M Company (NYSE:MMM) acquired HighJump Software, a provider of supply chain execution (SCE) solutions, for an undisclosed amount.

Deploy Solutions, a provider of recruiting, hiring, retention, and applicant tracking software and services, acquired Humetrics, a provider of hiring systems for streamlining recruitment and selection practices, for an undisclosed amount.

Infowave (TSX:IW), a provider of wireless software solutions for mobile operators, corporations, and individuals, acquired Telispark, a provider of Enterprise Mobility Applications (EMA), for an undisclosed amount.

Insyde Software, a provider of system software and software engineering consulting services, acquired Accelent Systems, a provider of systems level software for Internet appliances, for an undisclosed amount.

P2 Energy Solutions, a provider of scalable, integrated back-office applications, merged with Tobin International, a provider of geo-business information systems utilizing map data and decision support software.

VERITAS Software (Nasdaq: VRTS), a provider of storage software, acquired Ejasent, a provider of utility computing solutions for data centers, for $59m.
